Village View Park is where you will find Adam Meurer of Mequon’s “Colored Mast”. There is an inherent sense of movement as the surrounding light and colors are reflected and absorbed in his 10 foot, steel and resin cast abstracted boat’s mast.

“The Weaver” by Chilton artist, Teresa Lind, is on display at the Peg Egan Performing Arts Center. Using cast aluminum and steel, Lind’s art reflects the strength of women and their stories, as shown by the realistic woman weaving her own flowing dress made of steel wire.
For over 30 years Judi Ekholm’s paintings have been about JOY.
“I find inspiration in the land, the sky, and the water of our wonderful world. My paintings are about the happiness I find in color, pattern, and the moods of the land. These are the elements I can run through my head, my heart and my soul and then use for my own personal painting language,” shares Ekholm.
The Village of Egg Harbor is honored to feature one of Ekholm’s original outdoor paintings located on the Paul J Bertschinger Community Center (home of the Village Administration offices, the Library and Post Office)!

William Jauquet’s steel sculpture “The Rooster” graces Harbor View Park, located in the middle of the village, adjacent to the marina. The piece, valued at $18,000, was installed in August of 2103 and was purchased in March of 2015 with the funds from the EGGstravaganza Art Event and Fundraiser. Jauquet began his art career as a rural folk carver, becoming nationally recognized in only a few years. He started woodcarving in 1978 and was honored with a one-person show in Washington D.C. sponsored by the Museum of American Folk Art. He began working in bronze in 1986, using the lost wax method of casting bronze. Jauquet casts his studio bronzes in his own foundry near Green Bay. He does everything from design to sculpting to casting and finishing. All of his studio bronzes are one-of-a-kind with a chemical patina and hot wax finish.
Beginning around 2007, Jauquet began working in welded steel. Many of his metal sculptures can be seen in the Edgewood Orchard Galleries sculpture garden, located in Fish Creek. View this piece in person at the Egg Harbor, Harbor View Park, located in the center of the Village.
To commemorate the completion of the new marina in Egg Harbor, the Village commissioned renowned sculptor, Richard Edelman, to create a piece of public art that would echo the magic of sailing. Edelman has a great interest in the wind. Which has led him to rebuild many 1930’s Wincharger generators, the world’s first wind turbines, and to create sculptures based on American weathervanes.
“Straight lines will not do for the wind, but a series of crescents together seemed to fill with the wind. The electrostatic paint process was used to apply the blue of marine canvas, which in turn references the color of brisk, blowing, sunny days on Green Bay.”

A painter in his pre-retirement years, Olson has built a solid reputation as a sculptor since moving to Door County full time a decade ago. We are honored that Olson has chosen Egg Harbor as his home and especially grateful for his beautiful donated work to the Village’s permanent collection of public art; The Seafarer (above) being the first. Located at the end of the Village Marina, resting among the rocks.

We are pleased to announce that the Public Arts Initiative of Egg Harbor, Wisconsin (formally the Public Art Committee) is now the Village of Egg Harbor’s independent public art advisory board.
The mission of the Public Arts Initiative (PAI) of Egg Harbor is to develop, promote and expand the public art experience in the Village of Egg Harbor. We know the positive impact the arts have on cultural tourism and economic development for our community. It is our goal to create and maintain the highest quality public art program and to be recognized locally, regionally and nationally, further enhancing the extraordinary reputation of the Village of Egg Harbor, Wisconsin. We will also sponsor workshops and special events, throughout the year, to promote education, participation and the enjoyment of the arts in our community.
It will truly take a village to accomplish all of this! To lead us in the right direction, we have seven exceptional PAI board members – artists, educators, business owners and marketing and advertising specialists – that bring years of experience to the table. Our board members are Kathleen Mand Beck, Beverly Prohl, Jeff Olson, and Rebecca Carlton.
The Egg Harbor Village Administrator, Mr. Ryan Heise, and Deputy Administrator, Megan Vandermause will continue to work with PAI as advisors.
As a non-profit public arts organization in Egg Harbor, our yearly funding will come from a variety of sources. To get us off the ground in our first few years, we will be applying for funding from the Village of Egg Harbor. We will also ask for your help, through private and public donations, to support our mission of quality public art in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin.
